So since I found out that I was having a little boy the search has been on to find the right bedding and nursery decor. I really did not want anything that was going to look very babyish and I wanted something that my little man could grow into. I also had to find something that Kris really liked to so that was a challenge but we were finally able to agree on something.

I found the cutest bedding at Pottery Barn Kids and so that helped me make my decision but I had to convince Kris that is was going to work for the baby too.

Here are some pictures from the website:

Here is just the quilt:

I can't wait to start the decorating process and get ready for this little guy :)

Movement

For a few weeks now everyone has been asking me if I have been feeling the baby move and I have had to say no and start to wonder when I am going to feel that first sign of movement. Then everyone proceeds to tell me what the movement should feel like. Like a little flutter or butterflies in my tummy. Well tonight we were laying in bed watching a movies and I was laying super still and calm and I felt this little boy dart across my stomach. The first time it happened I was not sure what is was but when he did is a second time there was know denying the movement. It was one of the coolest and weirdest experience that I have felt so far. I can't wait to feel the movement again and to become stronger and for daddy to be able to feel his little boy.

There is really a baby in there . . .

So yesterday we took our parents to see if maybe we could find out what this little baby growing inside me was a little earlier then expected. I was not dying to know but I know that Kris and our parents were. My mom was counting down the weeks until the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT. I was totally shocked and suprised that this little person looked like a little baby now. I knew in my mind that it was going to look like a baby but it is a whole different experience when you see it with your own eyes. Well here a couple of my favorite shoots from yesterday. I think that I am going to wait until the next ultrasound to make sure they were right with what they said. But hope you enjoy the pictures.

Heartbeat!

So yesterday the idea of me actually being a mom finally became real.

On Monday night, I had a little bit of spotting so I promptly called my doctors office on Tuesday morning. They send me over to the lab once again to have another blood test to find out what my hormone levels were at and told me to call them on Wednesday to find out the results. This was the forth blood test that I had to take. About 3 weeks prior I was having some problems with a tooth ache and I thought that I might be pregnant and so I called my doctor and they had me take a blood test and it came back positive but my hormone levels were at 19 so it was really early on in the pregnancy. So they were having me re-test the last two weeks to make sure the levels were going up the way that they should be.

So I called on Wednesday to get my results from the last test and the nurse told me that my hormone levels were high enough to do an ultrasound. So they scheduled me to come in a few hours later. So Kris came and picked me up and headed over to our appointment. I was both excited and nervous about this. Excited because they said that they would not be doing an ultrasound until 20 weeks to find out the sex of the baby and nervous because of the spotting two days before.

Well they told us that everything was perfect and that I was measuring 6 week and 5 days and that the spotting was normal and should not be anything to worry about. Then the tech asked us if we wanted to hear the heartbeat and it was one of the coolest experiences of my life. As I was listening I could see a little flutter on the screen.

Here is the picture of the little one from the ultrasound:

Big News!!!!!!!!

So I have been keeping this a secret for a few weeks now and it has been so hard to do that since I want to tell everyone that I know. So since everything has been going so well, I thought that I would finally share my good news. Kris and I are happy to announce that we are expecting a little bundle of joy in April. We are both super excited about this and can't wait to be parents and meet our little guy or girl. I am going to be six weeks along on Friday and I have my first doctors appointment two weeks later. I have been feeling great so far and have not had any morning sickness and I am hoping that it stays that way. I feel a lot better now that the secret is out in the open!!!

Our Honeymoon

We set sail for the Mexican Rivera on April 22, 2008. I had never been on a cruise so Kris thought that it would be fun to take a week long cruise to Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta. We thought that since it was our honeymoon that we would travel in style and get a suite for the week. Everyone thought that we were crazy and said that we would not spend that much time in the room but since our room was so big and nice that we did spend a lot of time there.

Here are a few pictures of our room:

On the first night at see Kris surprised me with a plate of chocolate covered strawberries with a super cute note that said something about being excited about starting our lives together as a family. I thought that I saved the card but went to look for it before we moved and could not find it.

The first night at dinner we lucked out and got seated with some people that were around our age so it made dinners the rest of the week fun.

Our first stop was Cabo San Lucas. Since we were in one of the suites we actually got to be the first ones off the ship to go into port. The weather was good but it was a little hot. We walked around and did some shopping. We decided after a few hours of walking and shopping that we would head back to the boat and hung out by the pool and had some cocktails. Here are a few shots for Cabo:

The second stop was Mazatlan. When we woke up we were actually in port and when we looked out the window we were really not all the impressed with what we saw so we decided to just stay and hang out on the boat since there was really not many people on board.

Our third and final stop was Puerto Vallarta. I really enjoyed the cobble streets as we drove into town. We went and had some lunch and drinks and a cool little place call the Blue Shrimp. One of the attorneys at my office said that we had to try that place. I really enjoyed it and wish that we had been hungrier so that we could eat more. We walked around and found a Bubba Gump Shrimp place and so Kris and I had to go in a check it out. Then we walked down toward the end of the harbor. The locals did these amazing sand sculptures all along the beach. Here are some photos from Puerto Vallarta:

We did not end up leaving port until about 10 or 11 that night so after dinner Kris and I decided that we were going to go up the the highest point of the ship and have a drink and watch the boat pull out at night.

We had a wonderful time on our trip but we were excited to get home.

Our Wedding

We were married on April 21, 2007 at the Rancho San Clemente Tennis Club in San Clemente. We are on a limited time frame when to get married cause Kris decided that we should book our honeymoon first. We had wanted to get married on the beach but decided that since it was spring and that the weather was unpredictable that we should find somewhere else to get married. So that is when I decided if I could not get married on the beach then I would bring the beach to my wedding. The weather ended up being almost perfect. It was a little bit cold but it was not raining like it had the day before. Kris and I thought that it would be fun to say our own vows. He was more nervous about it the closer that it got the big day. Everything went wonderful and I was really sad to see it end but I was excited to have someone to share the rest of my life with and start a family.

Here are some of my favorite pictures from our wedding:

Our Engagment

Kris and I had been kind of talking about getting married and we had kind of looked a few different types of rings together in May 2006 but I was in no rush to get engaged or married. I was happy living together and just being with each other. On Father's Day weekend of 2006, Kris and I moved into our one bedroom apartment, which I was so happy about cause I had moved into an apartment that he had picked out before that, so it was the first place that we both picked out. On June 20, 2006 I had started my new job which I was really really excited about so things were really good for us. On June 28, 2006, I got home from work around the same time that Kris did and he suggested going to El Torito Grill for dinner and then go to the Dana Point Harbor to watch the grunion run, which I thought was a little odd but I went with it. At dinner he was acting a little strange but when I asked him about it he just said that work had been stressful that day. After dinner we drove down to the Harbor and walked around the Marine Museum. We were talking and walking and Kris was still acting strange and I thought that he was about to break up with me cause he was talking about his theories about the way life works out. I told him that "as long as the good times are better then the bad times then you are ahead of the game" he then said that he had a theory of his own and then he got down on one knee and said that "he loved me and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me" and he asked me to be his wife and open a box with a beautiful ring. I was in so much in shock that I stood there for about 30 seconds saying nothing and then I replied by asking him if he was serious and not kidding right now and he told me that he was not kidding and I still could not mutter an answer and he asked me if I had an answer for him and I finally told him YES.

After he proposed, he told me that day he had taken my parents out to lunch and asked my step dad for my hand in marriage, which meant so much to me. He told me that he was afraid that my family or my friend Jennifer were going to ruin the surprise so he decided that he would do it the same night that he got my parents blessing rather then waiting until Saturday like he had originally planned.

I was so excited that I could not stop looking at my ring. I only wish that there had been someone else there to capture that moment in time. Here is a picture of my beautiful ring taken a few days later.

How We Met

Kris and I met in August 2005 on the internet. I had just moved from Riverside to Irvine and I really did not know many people out here so I decieded that I was going to do a search and see if I could find a few people in the area so that I could make new friends. I came across Kris profile and noticed that he was into going to the desert and riding. So I send him a message and found out that we had a lot in common. We talked online for a few weeks before we talked on the phone getting to know more and more about each other. About 2 weeks later Kris asked me if my roommate, Jennifer and I wanted to met him and his roommate at Dave and Busters in the Spectrum. I convinced Jennifer to go with me since it was a Sunday and past her bed time, which was about 9 on work nights to go with me. I was really nervous and excited at the same time. We had a really good time and I was sad to say goodbye at the end of the night. He called me on his way home and told me that he could not wait hang out again. So we made a plan to hang out again on the following Wednesday night and we had such a good time that we hung out everyday the rest of the week. The more and more that we hung out the more and more fun we had. And I could not wait to talk to him or hang out with him. Neither one of us really wanted to be in a serious relationship at the time but it just kind of worked out that way.
