Our Honeymoon

We set sail for the Mexican Rivera on April 22, 2008. I had never been on a cruise so Kris thought that it would be fun to take a week long cruise to Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta. We thought that since it was our honeymoon that we would travel in style and get a suite for the week. Everyone thought that we were crazy and said that we would not spend that much time in the room but since our room was so big and nice that we did spend a lot of time there.

On the first night at see Kris surprised me with a plate of chocolate covered strawberries with a super cute note that said something about being excited about starting our lives together as a family. I thought that I saved the card but went to look for it before we moved and could not find it.

The first night at dinner we lucked out and got seated with some people that were around our age so it made dinners the rest of the week fun.

Our first stop was Cabo San Lucas. Since we were in one of the suites we actually got to be the first ones off the ship to go into port. The weather was good but it was a little hot. We walked around and did some shopping. We decided after a few hours of walking and shopping that we would head back to the boat and hung out by the pool and had some cocktails. The second stop was Mazatlan. When we woke up we were actually in port and when we looked out the window we were really not all the impressed with what we saw so we decided to just stay and hang out on the boat since there was really not many people on board.

Our third and final stop was Puerto Vallarta. I really enjoyed the cobble streets as we drove into town. We went and had some lunch and drinks and a cool little place call the Blue Shrimp. One of the attorneys at my office said that we had to try that place. I really enjoyed it and wish that we had been hungrier so that we could eat more. We walked around and found a Bubba Gump Shrimp place and so Kris and I had to go in a check it out. Then we walked down toward the end of the harbor. The locals did these amazing sand sculptures all along the beach. Here are some photos from Puerto Vallarta:


We did not end up leaving port until about 10 or 11 that night so after dinner Kris and I decided that we were going to go up the the highest point of the ship and have a drink and watch the boat pull out at night.

We had a wonderful time on our trip but we were excited to get home.
